I started bass fishing at the age of 5 with my father at my grandparents
cottage on the Bay of Quinte, in Brighton, Ontario.
My dad and & I use to visit our cottage every weekend and row our aluminum boat
out to the weed beds, the boat leaked so much that I remember having to wear
rubber boots to go fishing! Then one day, this sparkly bass boat showed up at
our boat ramp to practice for a tournament. It was the late Hank Gibson,
I was so excited; I ran over to see his boat and talk fishing with him. Up until
then, I had never heard of bass tournaments before, he explained to me that you
had to be at least 15 yrs. of age and you must have a boat with a live-well to
participate. When I was 14 yrs. old, I asked my dad to help me build our own
bass boat out of the old aluminum boat so I could enter the tournaments the
following summer.
Since then, I’ve made my dream come true ….. I have an extreme competitive
edge and a real passion for fishing bass tournaments in Canada and throughout
the states, in the USA.
